Bob Completes 50 Years in Royal Ark Mariner Masonry and a new Bob is Elevated

The meeting of Pulborough Royal Ark Mariner Lodge No. 1245 saw two important things happen; [1] W.Bro. Dr Robert D.T. Sillett MBE R.A.M.G.R. received, from R.W.Bro. C. Martin Wilson Prov.G.M., a certificate from the Grand Master’s Royal Ark Council and one from the Ancient and Honourable Fraternity of Royal Ark Mariner of Sussex to mark the anniversary of him being Elevated into the Order [in this Lodge] fifty years ago. The presentation was preceded by the Prov.G.M. giving the assembled brethren an insight into the many and varied things W.Bro. Bob had been involved in over this time. Following the presentation of the certificates W.Bro. Bob was lauded with long, hearty and sustained applause. [2] Another Bob, in the form of Bro. Robert G. Scott, was Elevated into the Order in a very friendly, sincere and workmanlike manner by the Officers of the Lodge. May he enjoy many happy years in the Pulborough RAM Lodge. Congratulations have to be extended to those who carried out the ceremony.

The Provincial Grand Master brought with him his Provincial Team to the meeting so the Lodge was full with over fifty members and guests present to witness the proceedings. All in all, it was excellent evening.

At the festive board that followed the Lodge presented R.W. Bro Martin Wilson with a memento of the occasion and W.Bro Bob Sillett with an engraved glass tankard. Well-fed and watered all went home afterwards knowing that this had been a special meeting which will be remembered for a long time to come.
